community

We are a community that looks forward and that seeks to encounter the Divine beyond the confines of the past. And so we are an inclusive and diverse gathering still forming and finding new possibilities. We seek to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves by sharing the abundance that we enjoy. We try to build Community by meeting regularly in all kinds of groups, not confined to worship, and we use our sense of belonging and community to help others.

Christ has no body but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which he looks Compassion on this world, Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good, Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, Yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassion on this world. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

We have many different ways we try to put our hands to work. This page details some of them.

Can You Help Can Communities

One of the greatest joys I have had in the last couple of months has been getting to know the good people of Cana Communities Inc, in WA. They are a fabulous charitable organisation, doing transformative work with vulnerable women in and around Fremantle for the last 8 years. They are a self-funded, non-government, not-for-profit organization that has been supporting the vulnerable populations of NSW and WA for nearly 50 years. Their mission is to provide companionship, support, and opportunities for individuals facing various challenges, including homelessness. And now they need our help…

Cana Communities
Cana Communities

They are looking to rent a home to provide transitional housing options for women in WA. All rent will be paid directly from their head office in NSW.

They already have well established boundaries and expectations which the women adhere to, such as:
•      Treat people and property with respect always.
•      No Smoking or Vaping in any part of the building.
•      Illegal drugs, illegal goods, or alcohol are not permitted on the premises.

Cana Communities Inc, takes full responsibility for the condition of the property. Any changes to the property would only be made in consultation with the property manager, with approval from the owner. Cana:
•      A place to belong and contribute.
•      Opportunities for communal activities and shared meals.
•      A bedroom and common areas in good repair.
•      Appropriate levels of privacy and confidentiality.

The property they are looking for will provide a safe area for their Food truck to be parked. It will have good access to public transport and support services.  References are available too.

If you think you could help, please contact Mauz Kay, the manager of Cana Communities, on 0419 928 110, or speak to Revd Gemma.

Just Manna

BACKGROUND:
Just Manna Inc. is an incorporated body and outreach service of St Paul’s Anglican Church, Beaconsfield.
It is a not-for-profit organisation which has been in operation since 2006. Originally, it was set up to serve refugees newly arrived in Australia and has expanded to serve all those in need in the broader community.
All donations over $2.00 are tax deductable. Just Manna Inc. is managed by volunteers and as such all funds are used to benefit our clients.

AIM:
Just Manna aims to provide direct relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, disability or helplessness including
financial and non-financial assistance to people in Australia.

“Charity isn’t justice. Charity accepts the status quo. When we do charity, we give out of our affluence to help the poor; we don’t actually sacrifice our affluence to destroy the distinction between rich and poor. We mustn’t settle for charity when justice is required.

Just Manna continues to have a strong presence within our community. We work with other agencies to ensure we are not duplicating services, instead focusing on unmet community needs. Much of this work involves being an advocate for our clients as they negotiate complex situations.
Just Manna is pleased to continue working with:

  • Ocean View Lodge –Street to Home Programme
  • Homeless HealthCare
  • RUAH Community Services
  • Health In Kind
  • St Pat’s Fremantle
  • Syrian Refugees
  • Local Primary and Secondary Schools
  • CARAD
  • The Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem

St Paul's Beyond Inc.

SPBI seeks bequests and legacies so it can build an investment portfolio to enable it to extend and enhance the activities of St Paul’s Beaconsfield beyond the confines of the Church.

Bequests & Legacies

A bequest, or legacy, can be the most important gift you ever give. By remembering our community activities in your will, you are ensuring future generations have a foundation on which to continue the work we are already engaged in today.

Give For The Future

The institutional Church and the mainline denominations are rapidly losing their place in a secular world. Some would say that in another generation or two they will no longer have a living presence in the world.
For the past twenty years or so St Paul’s has evolved beyond the institutional model into a very much community centred and supported Church community that has remained relevant in a changing world.
St Paul’s BEYOND Inc. is a practical outworking of our commitment to the future of all that we have built on the foundations of yesterday, and it gives us an opportunity to secure our relevance into the future, and a commitment to closing the gap between rich and poor.

Why Give To
St Paul's Beyond Inc.

What we have accumulated during our life journey we often see as that which we will pass on, and for most that means to members of the family. This understanding of ‘wealth’ is the greatest contributor to the gap between rich & poor in the world, for those who “have” never release their abundance to those who “have-not”.
By “giving” of our abundance to enable ‘others’ to enjoy all that we have, we close the gap, and we make a real difference in the lives of others.
By sharing in the aspirations of St Paul’s BEYOND Inc. we can ensure that we continue to ‘give’ life to those who are in need, and those who do not have the opportunities we enjoy.
